Swedish Massage
Clients disrobe and lie comfortably on a table draped with a sheet. I apply lotion or oil with long, flowing strokes to the skin. Kneading and friction stokes are added to relax tense muscles or soothe minor aches and pains. Based on the client’s preference, I can vary the pressure from light to deep and massage the full body or focus only on problem areas. The pace is slow with relaxation the main goal.

Deep Tissue
Clients disrobe and lie comfortably on a table draped with a sheet. I use firm, heavy pressure applied with my palms, forearms, elbows or knuckles to specific muscles that are in a state of chronic spasm. This is a very focused technique used only as needed and with the client’s permission. Oil or lotion on the skin helps reduce friction. I often use these techniques to aid healing following physical injury and combine them with Swedish massage to incorporate relaxation effects.

Acupressure
Clients wear loose, comfortable clothing lie comfortably on a table. No oil or lotion is used. With this style of bodywork derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine, I focus on balancing the flow of energy and removing blockages. Various strokes are used on the full body to relax the client and loosen joints. Gentle finger pressure is then applied to specific points on the body where energy flow may be blocked or deficient. My goal is to bring the client into a balanced, deeply relaxing state yet full of vital energy. May be combined with Swedish massage if desired.

CranioSacral Therapy
Clients wear loose, comfortable clothing lie comfortably on a table. No oil or lotion is used. I lightly place my hands on your limbs and trunk to feel the rhythm created by your CranioSacral System. The CranioSacral System consists of the cerebrospinal fluid surrounding your brain and spinal cord, encased by three layers of membranes. If there are restrictions in these membranes, your rhythm will be weak or irregular and your health adversely affected. I will lightly touch your skull (or cranium), your spine, and your tailbone (or sacrum). Thru gentle manipulation of these bones, tension patterns and membrane restrictions are released. Although the touch is very gentle, the effects can be felt at the deepest levels of healing. I can combine CranioSacral Therapy with Swedish massage or Acupressure during 90-minute sessions.
